A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. "그저 나으라는 말씀만 한마디 해 주십시오." 예수님께서는 가버나움에 사는 한 로마 백부장의 믿음을 놀랍게 여기셨습니다 . 그 이유는 예수님께서 중풍병으로 몹시 괴로워하고 있는 그 백부장의 하인을 그의 집에 가서 고쳐 주겠다고 말씀하셨을 때 그 백부장은 “ 주님 , 저는 주님을 내 집에까지 오시게 할 만한 자격이 없습니다 . 그저 나으라는 말씀만 한마디 해 주십시오 . 그러면 제 하인이 나을 것입니다 ” 하고 말했기 때문입니다 . 그래서 예수님은 그 백부장에게 “ 가거라 . 네 믿음대로 될 것이다 ” 하고 말씀하셨고 “ 바로 그 시각에 그의 하인이 나았 ” 습니다 ( 마태복음 8:5-13, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 우리 주님도 놀랍게 여기시는 그 백부장의 믿음을 저도 본받고 싶습니다 . 비록 저의 믿음이 한 알의 밀 ( 요한복음 12:24) 처럼 매우 작지만 천지를 말씀으로 창조하신 ( 창세기 1 장 ) 말씀이신 주님 ( 요한복음 1:1) 의 입에서 하신 ( 약속의 ) 말씀 한 마디로 ( 개인적으로 주님께 받은 약속의 말씀은 요한복음 6 장 1-15 절이고 , 교회적으로 받은 약속의 말씀은 마태복음 16 장 18 절임 ) 만족하여 보이는 것으로 살지 않고 믿음으로 살고 싶습니다 ( 고린도후서 5:7, 현대인의 성경 ).
