For some of us, it’s been a while. In our hard-working, highly productive culture, we can sometimes feel like exhausted swimmers swept downstream in a fast-moving river, fighting to keep our heads above water, gasping for air. We get up early and stay up late. We never waste a minute. Our schedule is full, running here, running there, running late, running to catch up, running on empty, until we collapse in utter exhaustion. Underneath the satisfaction of being hard-working, hard-playing people is a weariness that’s desperate for the pace to relent so we can rest and recharge. Deep down, we’re dying to slow down and take a break. We keep telling ours...
세상에 있는 것이 하나도 부족함이 없어 보이는 삶? 우리는 사람이 보기에 부를 누리면서 아무 염려와 걱정 없이 한가하고 평온하고 안전하며 세상에 있는 것이 하나도 부족함이 없어 보이는 삶을 매우 좋게 여길 것입니다 ( 삿 18:7, 9, 10). 그래서 우리는 하나님께 그러한 삶을 살게 해달라고 간구할 것입니다 . 그리고 우리는 그러한 삶이 축복된 삶이라고 " 미가 " 가 " 고용 " 한 목사님에게 설교를 통해 배웠습니다 (17:10; 18:4). 그런데 그 목사님은 세상적인 유혹에 넘어가 야망과 욕심이 있는 목사님이요 또한 돈을 우상화해서 (18:19-20) 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬기고 있는 사람이라는 것입니다 ( 마 6:24). 우리는 그 사실을 알면서도 그러한 목사님의 설교에 은혜를 받아 기뻐하면서 그러한 삶을 간구하고 추구하고 있습니다 . 그 결과 지금 우리도 야망과 욕심 속에서 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬기는 죄를 범하고 있습니다 .
