Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 우리를 힘들게 하고 상처와 고통을 주는 사람들이 아직도 존재하고 있는(남겨두신) 이유는  ...?  우리 인생에 우리를 힘들게 하고 상처와 고통을 주는 사람들이 아직도 존재하고 있는 ( 남겨두신 ) 이유는 어쩌면 하나님께서는 우리를 시험하 시되 우리가 하나님의 명령에 순종하는지 안 하는지를 알아보기 위해서 일 수도 있습니다 ( 참고 : 사사기 3:1-4, 현대인의 성경 ).
