A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. 우리는 하나님의 도우심의 확신을 가져야 합니다! 하나님께서 페르시아의 키루스 황제의 마음을 감동시키셔서 그로 하여금 온 땅에 공포하도록 한 조서에는 “ 유다 사람이 어느 곳에 살든지 그가 돌아갈 때 그 이웃 사람들은 그를 도와주고 그에게 은과 금과 그 밖에 필요한 물건과 짐승과 그리고 예루살렘에 있는 하나님의 성전에 바칠 예물을 주도록 하여라 ” 는 내용도 있었습니다 ( 에스라 1:4, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 출애굽 당시에 모세가 이스라엘 백성들을 이집트에서 데리고 나올 때 “ 이스라엘 자손들은 모세가 지시한 대로 이집트 사람들에게 금은 패물과 의복을 요구하였 ” 고 “ 여호와께서는 이집트 사람들이 이스라엘 사람들에 대하여 호감을 갖게 하셔서 그들이 요구한 대로 주게 하셨으므로 이스라엘 사람들은 이집트 사람들의 물건은 거의 빼앗다시피 하였다 ” 는 말씀이 생각났습니다 ( 출애굽기 12:35-36, 현대인의 성경 ). 이 두 성경 말씀을 연관해서 묵상할 때 우리 하나님은 우리를 도와주시되 우리 이웃의 마음도 감동하시사 우리에게 호감을 갖게 하셔서 그 이웃으로 하여금 우리를 도와주신다는 생각을 하게 되었습니다 . 이렇게 하나님께서는 우리가 전혀 예상하지도 못하고 기대할 수조차도 없는 사람들을 통해서도 우리를 도와주시는 하나님이십니다 . 그러므로 우리는 하나님의 도우심의 확신을 가져야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다 .
