외식하는 율법을 열심히 지키는 사람들의 눈에는 결코 용납할 수 없는 것들이 있습니다. 율법을 열심히 지키는 사람들에게 있어서는 사도 바울이 모세를 저버리고 , 할례를 행하지 말고 , 유대인의 관습도 따르지도 말라는 가르침은 결코 용납할 수 없는 것이었습니다 . 그러나 그것은 소문일 뿐이었습니다 ( 사도행전 21:20-21, 현대인의 성경 ). 바울은 모세를 저버리지 않았고 , 할례를 꼭 해야만 구원을 받는다는 가르침을 동의할 수 없었던 것이고 (15:1-2) 유대인의 관습을 따르지 말라고 가르치기보다 하나님의 계명을 버리고 사람의 전통을 지키는 것이 잘못되었다는 예수님의 가르침 ( 마가복음 7:8-9) 을 따랐을 뿐이었습니다 . 지금도 교회 안에서는 바리새인들과 같이 외식하는 율법을 열심히 지키는 사람들의 눈에는 결코 용납할 수 없는 것들이 있다고 생각하는 것 같습니다 . 특히 사실에 근거하지 않은 소문이나 복음의 진리를 모르는 무지함 속에서 예수 그리스도의 복음적인 가르침과 복음의 합당한 삶을 판단하고 비난하며 마음속으로 라도 정죄하는 것 같습니다 . 이러한 면이 만일 우리 안에 보인다면 우리를 회개해야 합니다 .
