A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 주님께서 우리에게 불쌍히 여기는 마음을 주셔서 고통당하고 있는 사랑하는 사람들을 향하여 마음을 나아가게 하십니다 . 예수님은 자신과 함께 있는 지가 3 일이나 된 군중들 ( 여자와 아이들 외에 남자만 약 4,000 명 ) 이 먹을 것이 없는 것을 아시고 그들을 불쌍히 여기셨습니다 . 예수님은 그들이 길에서 쓰러질지도 모르기에 그들을 굶겨서 그대로 보내고 싶지 않으셨습니다 . 그 때 예수님의 제자들은 예수님에게 “ 이 벌판에서 이처럼 많은 군중들을 배불리 먹일 만한 빵을 어디서 구할 수 있겠습니까 ?” 하고 말했고 예수님은 그들에게 “ 너희에게 빵이 얼마나 있느냐 ?” 하고 물었습니다 . 그들은 예수님에게 빵이 일곱 개가 있고 작은 물고기도 몇 마리가 있다고 말씀드렸습니다 . 그러자 예수님께서는 군중들을 땅에 앉히시고 빵 일곱 개와 그 물고기 몇 마리를 가지고 감사 기도를 드리신 다음에 제자들에게 주셨습니다 . 그래서 제자들은 그것을 군중들에게 나누어 주었는데 그 군중들은 모두 실컷 먹고 남은 조각을 일곱 광주리나 거뒀습니다 ( 마태복음 15:32-38, 현대인의 성경 ). 주님께서 우리에게 불쌍히 여기는 마음을 주셔서 고통당하고 있는 사랑하는 사람들을 향하여 마음을 나아가게 하십니다 . 그런데 우리는 그들을 위하여 그들에게 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할지 모를 때가 참 많습니다 . 그럴 때마다 우리는 주님을 바라보고 믿음으로 먼저 감사 기도를 드려야 합니다 ....
