사랑의 징계를 통한 마음의 우상들을 제거? 하나님께서는 예레미야 선지자를 통해 하나님의 명령에 불순종하고 이집트로 간 모든 유다 백성들에게 하나님의 종 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕을 도구로 사용하시사 이집트를 공격하여 죽일 자는 죽이고 생포할 자는 생포하고 칼로 칠 자는 칼로 칠 것이라고 말씀하셨을 뿐만 아니라 이집트의 수많은 신전에 불을 놓아 그것들을 태우고 신상을 가져갈 것이며 헬리오폴리스의 주상을 깨뜨릴 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다 ( 예레미야 43:7-13, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 하나님께서는 우리보다 여러모로 힘이 쎈 불신자들도 사용하시사 불순종한 우리를 사랑으로 징계하실 수 있다는 생각이 들었습니다 . 그리고 하나님은 그 사랑의 징계를 통해 우리의 불순종한 죄를 회개하게 하시려고 하실 뿐만 아니라 우리가 하나님보다 더 의지하는 모든 것들을 우리 마음에서 제거하게 하시려고 하신다는 생각이 들었습니다 .
