The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 교회의 파수꾼을 통하여 우리가 경고의 메시지(말씀)를 듣고도 그 경고를 무시하고 ... 하나님께서 세우신 교회의 파수꾼을 통하여 우리가 경고의 메시지 ( 말씀 ) 를 듣고도 그 경고를 무시하고 방심하다가 교회가 그 결과 (consequence) 를 겪을 때에 그것은 우리 자신의 잘못이며 그 책임은 우리 자신에게 있습니다 . 그러나 만일 그 파수꾼이 원수 마귀가 교회를 공격하려고 하는 것을 알고도 교회 성도들에게 경고의 메시지 ( 말씀 ) 를 전하지 않아 교회 성도들이 큰 어려움을 겪게 되면 주님은 그 책임을 그 파수꾼에게 물으실 것입니다 ( 참고 : 에스겔 33:2-6, 현대인의 성경 ).
