Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear.  "... 율법적인 신앙을 강조하는 교회에서 신앙 생활을 시작하면 하나님의 은혜보다는 하나님의 기준에 미치지 못하는 자신에 대한 실망이 앞서게 된다.  하나님이나 타인을 실망시켰다는 자책감에 빠져 타인의 칭찬도 가시적으로 느껴지게 된다.  스스로가 위선적으로 느껴진다.  쉽게 수치심을 느끼며, 조그만 일에도 과도한 죄의식으로 괴로워한다."
