The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 누가복음 2장 8-20절 말씀 중심으로 세 가지로 묵상합니다:
첫째로, 목자들이 들은 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식입니다(10절).
그 소식은 바로 아기 예수의 탄생 소식입니다(11절).
아기 예수의 탄생이 큰 기쁨의 소식인 이유는 아기 예수님은 우리의 구주이시자 그리스도 주님이시기 때문입니다.
우리도 이 큰 기쁨의 소식을 들어야 합니다.
둘째로, 수 많은 천사들이 하나님께 부른 찬양입니다(13-14절).
그 찬양의 핵심은 수 많은 천사들은 구주 예수 그리스도께서 십자가에 죽기까지 하나님 아버지께 순종하시어 하나님의 구속 사역을 완성하시므로 말미암아 하나님께 영광을 돌리실 것과 완성된 구주 예수 그리스도의 하나님의 구속 사역의 결과로 하나님이 기뻐하시는 사람들에게 평화가 주어질 것입니다.
마지막 셋째로, 목자들의 반응입니다.
먼저 그들은 주님께서 그들에게 알리신 아기 예수의 탄생이 이루어진 일을 확인하고자 했습니다(15-16절).
그리고 그들은 천사가 자기들에게 아기 예수에 대하여 말한 것을 다른 사람들에게 전하였습니다(17절).
그 목자들은 전한 것은 바로 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식인 구주 예수 그리스도의 탄생의 소식입니다. 그런후 목자들은 자기들에게 이르던 바와 같이 듣고 본 그 모든 것으로 인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 찬송하였습니다(20절).
