목회자가 참으로 힘들어하는 이유 중 하나는 바로 성도들이 변하지 않는다는 것입니다. 그리고 변해야 한다고 외치지만 몇년이 지나도 변하지 않는 성도들의 모습을 볼 때에 목회자는 힘들어 할 뿐만 아니라 낙심하고 심지어 절망하기까지도 합니다. 그러나 낙심하고 절망하는 것은 목회자만이 아닙니다. 성도들도 낙심합니다. 그 이유는 그들이 바라보는 목회자가 변하고 있지 않기 때문입니다. 심지어 그들은 목회자를 바라보면서 절망까지 합니다. 그 이유는 목회자가 변질되었다고 생각하기 때문입니다. 이렇게 우리들은 서로로 인하여 실망하고 절망까지 합니다. 그 이유는 변화되지 않고 변질되어가고 있기 때문입니다.
