The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. 사탄의 유혹은 우리로 하여금 서로의 허물을 너무나도 보게 하고, 계속 생각하게 만들어 기록하게 만들고, 또한 허물을 자꾸만 다른 사람에게 말하게 만들고 있습니다.  분명히 성경은 사랑은 “악한 것을 생각지 아니”하며(잘못한 것들을 기록하지 않으며)(Love keeps no record of wrongs)(고전13:5) “사랑은 모든 허물을 가리”운다(but love covers over all wrongs)(10:12) 말씀하고 있는데도 말입니다.  "허물을 덮어 주는 자는 사랑을 구하는 자”입니다(He who covers over an offense promotes love)(잠언 17:9).
