The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. 유월절 어린양이신 예수님을 죽이려고 하는 유대인 지도자들은 자신들이 더럽혀지지 않고 유월절 음식을 먹으려고 로마 총독의 관저 안으로 들어가지 않았습니다(요한복음 18:28, 현대인의 성경).  이렇게 예수님을 알지 못하고 믿는 않는 무지와 불신의 마음은 이미 더럽혀져 있음에도 불구하고 교회 안에서는 바리새인들처럼 외식하여 사람들 보기에 겉모양을 깨끗게 하고자 애쓰고 있습니다.
