유월절 어린양이신 예수님을 죽이려고 하는 유대인 지도자들은 자신들이 더럽혀지지 않고 유월절 음식을 먹으려고 로마 총독의 관저 안으로 들어가지 않았습니다(요한복음 18:28, 현대인의 성경).  이렇게 예수님을 알지 못하고 믿는 않는 무지와 불신의 마음은 이미 더럽혀져 있음에도 불구하고 교회 안에서는 바리새인들처럼 외식하여 사람들 보기에 겉모양을 깨끗게 하고자 애쓰고 있습니다.
