The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 갈등을 통해서 나의 부족함과 죄가 들춰진다.
마음의 무거움과 죄책감 속에서 나는 허덕인다.
그리할 때 주님께서 내 마음에 다가오셔서 예수 십자가를 바라보게 하신다.
그 결과 주님께서는 나의 죄를 자백케 하시사 죄 사함의 은혜를 베풀어 주시므로 내 무거운 마음을 가볍게 해주신다.
그러한 가운데 주님께서는 나로 하여금 하나님의 사랑을 더욱더 사모케 하신다.
그 하나님의 사랑이 내 마음에 넘쳐 흘러 그 지체를 더욱더 사랑케 만들고 계신다.
사랑할 줄 모르는 자가 하나님의 사랑의 도구로 쓰임받는 다는 것이 무엇인지 갈등을 통해서 배우는 중이다.
