A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. ( 로마서 1:16) “ 내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라 먼저는 유대인에게요 그리고 헬라인에게로다 .” 1. “ 모든 믿는 자 ” 에 대해서 묵상하면서 주시는 은혜를 받고자 함 . a. 성경은 “ 믿음 ” 에 대해서 비유적으로 말씀하고 있음 . (1) 예를 들어 , 성경은 믿음은 ‘ 손 ’ 이다 라고 표현하고 있음 . 즉 , 하나님이 주시는 믿음을 우리가 ‘ 손 ’ 으로 받는다고 말씀하고 있음 . (a) 그런데 믿음은 통로다 라는 표현은 좀 잘못되었다는 것을 오늘 깨달았음 . 그 이유는 통로는 오고 갈 수 있는 길인데 믿음은 오고 갈 수 있는 것이 아니기 때문임 . 즉 , 믿음은 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 베풀어 주시는 것이지 우리가 하나님께 무엇인가를 베푸는 것이 아님 . (i) 오히려 믿음은 ‘ 도관 ’ 이다 라는 표현이 바른 표현임 . 여기서 도관이란 물이 흐를 수 있도록 돕는 파이프 (pipe) 임 . 그 파이프에 어떤 장치가 있어서 물이 다시 올라가게 한다면야 모르겠지만 그런 장치가 없는 이상 물은 내려가지 결코 올라갈 수가 없음 . 이와 같이 , 믿음은 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 베풀어 주시는 것임 .
