Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. 세례 요한의 죽음을 생각할 때 참 어처구니 없다는 생각이 듭니다 . 세례 요한은 헤롯왕이 동생 빌립의 아내 헤로디아와 결혼한 것에 대해 “ 당신은 그 여자와 결혼한 것은 잘못입니다 ” 하고 말했었습니다 . 그 일로 헤롯왕은 세례 요한을 죽이고 싶었지만 많은 사람들이 요한을 선지자로 여기고 있었기에 그들을 두려워하므로 옥에 가둔 적이 있었습니다 . 그러다가 헤롯의 생일날 , 헤로디아의 딸이 손님들 앞에서 춤을 추어 헤롯을 기쁘게 하였으므로 그녀가 요구하는 것은 무엇이든지 들어주겠다고 그녀에게 맹세하며 약속하였습니다 . 그래서 그녀는 자기 어머니인 헤로디아가 시키는 대로 “ 세례 요한의 머리를 쟁반에 담아 제게 주십시오 ” 하고 요구했습니다 . 헤롯왕은 몹시 괴로웠으나 자기가 한 맹세와 잔치 자리에 앉아 있는 손님들 때문에 그녀의 요구를 들어주라고 명령하고 사람을 보내 갇혀 있는 요한의 목을 베어 오게 하였습니다 . 그리고 요한의 머리를 쟁반에 담아 소녀에게 주자 그 소녀는 그것을 자기 어머니인 헤로디아에게 가져갔습니다 ( 마태복음 14:3-11, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 몇 가지 드는 생각이 있습니다 : (1) 자기 동생의 아내인 헤로디아와 결혼한 헤롯 왕에게 ‘ 그것은 잘못입니다 ’ 하고 말했다고 세례 요한을 죽이고 싶어한 헤롯 왕을 생각할 때 우리도 세례 요한처럼 세상적으로 우리 보다 권력이 있어 힘이 센 사람에게 그가 잘못한 것에 대해 ‘ 그것은 잘못입니다...
