혹시 지금 당신은 아직 일어나지도 않은 미래의 일을 미리 염려하며 두려워하고 있습니까? 혹시 지금 당신은 그 미래의 일을 닥치면 어떻게 해결해야 할지 고민하면서 두려워하고 있습니까?(신명기 7:17)
성경은 그 미래의 일을 '두려워하지 말라'고 말씀하고 있습니다(18절). 성경은 과거에 하나님께서 행하신 것을 '잘 기억하라'고 말씀하고 있습니다(18절). 어떻게 하나님께서 당신을 지금까지 인도해주셨는지, 어떻게 당신은 역경과 어려움과 고통 가운데에서 건져주셨는지 '기억하라'고 말씀하고 있습니다(19절). 동일하신 하나님께서 당신에게 '당신이 지금 두려워하는 모든 미래의 일도 '과거와 똑같이 건져주시고 인도해주시겠다'고 말씀하고 계십니다(19절, 현대인의 성경).
"여러분은 그들을 두려워하지 마십시오. 여러분은 하나님 여호와께서 여러분과 함께 계십니다.
