God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 하나님의 뜻은 불순종하는 요나 선지자가 바다에 던져지는 것이었습니다(요나 1:12). 물론 하나님께서는 이미 큰 물고기를 예비하셨습니다(17절). 그러나 불신자 사공들은 요나를 살려 보려고 힘써 노를 저어 배를 육지로 돌리고자 했습니다(13절). 그리했을 때 점점 흉용했던 바다가(11절) "점점 더 흉용하므로" 사공들은 능히 배를 육지로 돌릴 수가 없었습니다(13절). 그 사공들은 능히 하나님과 대결해서 이길 수가 없었습니다. 그들의 뜻인 요나 선지자를 바다에 던지지 않고 배를 육지로 돌리고자 하는 것과 하나님의 뜻인 요나 선지자를 바다에 던지는 것과 충돌했지만 결국 그 사공들은 "주 여호와께서는 주의 뜻대로 행하심이니이다"라고 말한 후 요나 선지자를 바다에 던졌습니다(14, 15절).
"내 주여 뜻대로 행하시옵소서 내 모든 일들을 다 주께 맡기고 저 천성 향하여 고요히 가리니 살든지 죽든지 뜻대로 하소서"(새찬송가 549장, "내 주여 뜻대로" 3절)
