A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 교회를 진리의 터 위에 세우고자 힘써야 합니다. 그러기 위해서 사도 바울은 골로새 교회의 성도들에게
예수 그리스도가 누구이신지를 이렇게 말씀했습니다: “그는 보이지
아니하는 하나님의 형상이시요 모든 피조물보다 먼저 나신 이시니”(골1:15).
이 말씀을 보면
예수 그리스도가 누구이신지를 2 가지를 말씀하고
있습니다: (1) 예수 그리스도는 “보이지 아니하는 하나님의
형상”입니다. 이
말씀의 의미는 ‘예수 그리스도는 하나님의 완전한 형상, 곧 하나님의
형상이시며 하나님의 본체이시다’라는 것입니다(맥아더). “그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을
취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고”(빌2:6).
(2) 예수 그리스도는
“모든 피조물보다 먼저 나신 이”십니다(골1:15).
이 말씀은 주로
이단이 말하는 예수 그리스도는 피조물이다라는 의미가 결코 아닙니다. 어떻게 창조주 하나님이신 예수 그리스도(16-17절)께서 동시에 피조물이 될 수가 있겠습니까? 결코 아닙니다! 이 말씀의
의미는 예수 그리스도는 창조 이전에 존재하셨고 창조보다 높은 지위에 계시다는 것입니다(맥아더). 우리는 예수 그리스도가 하나님되심(신성)과 완전한 사람 되심(인성)을 믿어야 합니다. 참된 신자들은 유일한 기초이신 그리스도 위에
견고하게 서 있으며 하나님의 가능하게 하시는 은혜로 신실합니다.
