The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 왜 하나님께서는 사울과 그의 부하들로 하여금 깊이 잠들게 하셨을까 라는 의문이 들었습니다. 혹시 하나님께서는 다윗을 시험하신 것이 아닌가 생각됩니다. 하나님께서는 사울 왕을 다윗에게 넘겨주시므로
다윗이 하나님께서 금하신 것인 하나님께서 택하사 기름 부어 세운 사울 왕을 죽이는지 안 죽이는지 시험하신 것 같습니다(9, 23절, 현대인의 성경). 다윗이 그 하나님의 시험에 통과한 비결은 다윗은 하나님께서 선을 행하는
신실한 자에게 그대로 갚아 주신다는 것을 믿었고 또한 그는 자기가 사울 왕의 생명을 소중히 여긴 것처럼 하나님께서 자기의 생명도 소중이 여기셔서
모든 환난에게 자기를 구출해 주시길 원했기 때문입니다(23-24절, 현대인의

하나님의 시험에 통과하길 기원합니다.
