성경). 그러나 하나님 아버지께서는
독생자 예수 그리스도까지도 아끼지 않으시고 우리 모든 사람을 위해 십자가에 내어주셔서(로마서
8:32, 현대인의 성경) 로마 군인들이 예수님을 십자가에 못박고 또한 한 군인이
창으로 예수님의 옆구리를 찔렀을 때(요한복음 19:18, 23, 34, 현대인의 성경) 그 군인들을 멈추게 하지 않으셨습니다. 오히려 하나님 아버지께서는 독생자 예수 그리스도에게 상함을
받게 하시기를 원하사 질고를 당하게 하셨습니다(이사야 53:10). 즉, 예수 그리스도께서
상처를 입고 고통을 당하신 후 죄를 속하는 희생제물이 되시는 것이 하나님 아버지의 뜻이었습니다(10절,
현대인의 성경).
