하나님께서 우리의 발길이 닿는 곳마다 우리 친척을 축복하시길 기원합니다.
외삼촌 라반을 위해서 일했던 야곱은 그 일한 대가로 얻은 처자들과
함께 떠나 자기 고향으로 돌아가고 싶어했습니다. 그는 자기 집을 세우길 원했습니다. 그 때 라반은 조카 야곱을 머물러 있게 하고자 "보수를 얼마나 주면 좋겠는지 말해
보아라 내가 얼마든지 주겠다"고 말했습니다. 그 이유는 라반은 야곱이 자기에게 오기 전에는 재산이 얼마되지
않았지만 하나님께서 야곱 때문에 자기를 축복해 주셔서 이제는 재산이 무척 많아졌기 때문이었습니다. 하나님께서는 야곱의 발길이 닿는 곳마다 외삼촌 라반을 축복하셨고
라반도 이 사실을 잘 알고 있었습니다(창세기 30:25-30, 현대인의
성경). 하나님께서 우리의 발길이 닿는
곳마다 우리 친척을 축복하시길 기원합니다.
