A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 모르드개의 관한 일을 전해 들은 에스더는 크게 근심하며 모르드개에게
갈아 입을 옷을 보냈으나 그는 그것을 거절했습니다(에스더4:4, 현대인의
성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때
우리가 사랑하는 사람으로 인해 크게 근심할 수 있다고 생각합니다.
특히 그 큰 근심이 우리 마음을 너무나 괴롭게 하면 우리의 영혼은 어느 누구의 위로도 거절할 수밖에 없을
수 있다고 생각합니다. 이러한 저의
생각의 근거는 시편 77편 2절 말씀입니다: “나의 환난 날에 내가 주를 찾았으며 밤에는 내 손을 들고 거두지 아니하였나니 내 영혼이 위로 받기를 거절하였도다”[“In
the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out
without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted”(NASB)]. 우리는 우리의 영혼이 위로 받기를 거절할 정도로 괴로울 때가
있습니다. 그 때 오직 주님만이 우리의
영혼을 위로하실 수 있습니다.
