통곡 기도
아하수에로 왕이 하만의 말을 조소를 내려 12월 13일 하루 동안 페르시아 제국 안에 있는 남자 여자 어른 아이 할 것 없이 유다 사람들을
모조리 죽이고 그들의 재산을 약탈하도록 했다(에스더 3:13, 현대인의
성경)은 것을 알고 모르드개는 자기 옷을 찢고 삼베 옷을 입은 다음 티끌을 머리에 뒤집어쓰고 대성 통곡하였습니다(4:1,
현대인의 성경). 유다 사람들은 크게 통곡하고 금식하며 울부짖었고 수많은 사람들이 삼베 옷을 입은 채 재에 뒹굴었습니다(3절, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 어쩌면 모르드개의 입장에서 자기가
아하수에로 왕의 명령을 거역하고 하만에게 꿇어 절하지 않으므로 하만으로 하여금 화가 머리 끝까지 치밀어 올라 결국 모든 유다 사람들이 죽임을 당하게
되었다(3:2-6, 현대인의 성경)고 생각할 수도 있었겠다는 생각이
듭니다. 중요한 것은 모르드개나 유다
사람들은 (대성) 통곡했다는 것입니다. 얼마나 그들이 상심하고 슬펐으면(애도했으면) 그리 통곡하고 울부짖었을까 라는 생각이 듭니다. 제 기억으로는 제가 평생에 딱 한 번 통곡 기도를 드린 것
같습니다. 그 때는 바로 첫째 아기
주영이가 제 품에서 죽었을 때였습니다.
