비록 아닥사스다 황제는 느헤미야가 요구하고 부탁한 것을 다 들어주었으므로
느헤미야가 황제가 보내 준 몇몇 군 지휘관들과 기병대와 함께 “유프라테스강 서쪽 지방으로 가서 그 곳
총독들에게 황제가 써 준 공문을 주었”지만 그 지방의 호론 사람 산발랏과 정부 관리가 된 암몬 사람 도비야는
“이스라엘 사람의 복지를 위해 일한 사람”(느헤미야)이 온 다는 말을 듣고 “대단히 격분”하였습니다(느헤미야 2:8-10, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 하나님께서 우리와 함께 하시므로
우리를 지지(support)하는 사람도 있지만 동시에 우리를 대적하는 사탄이 함께 하는 사람들도 있다는 것을
명심해야 함을 생각하게 됩니다.
