예루살렘 성벽을 재건하고 있다는 말을 들은 산발랏은 아주 격분하여
느헤미야와 유다 사람들을 모욕하고 조롱했습니다. “그 때 곁에 서 있던” 도비야가 “저들이 건축하는 것은
여우가 올라가도 무너질 것이다!”하고 “맞장구를 쳤”습니다(느헤미야 4:1-3, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 주님께서 우리를 도구(tools)로 사용하셔서 주님의 교회를 세워 나아가실 때 교회의 원수인 사탄과 그의 사람들은 충분이 아주 격분하여 우리를 모욕하고 조롱할 수
있다고 생각되었습니다. 그런데 그 과정에
산발랏과 같은 사람이 먼저 우리를 모욕하고 조롱하면 “그 때 곁에” 있는 도비야와 같이 “맞장구”를 치는 사람이 있다는 것입니다. 이렇게 맞장구를 치면서 동요하는 사람으로 인해 우리를 대적하는
사람들은 그룹(파벌)을 형성하고 함께 연합전선을 펴서 우리에 대해 거짓
소문을 퍼트리고 소동을 일으켜 충분히 공격할 수 있다고 생각합니다.
이것은 사탄의 전략 중에 하나라고 생각합니다.
