God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. 하나님의 종은 뇌물을 받아서는 안 됩니다.
느헤미야와 유다 백성들의 원수들인 도비야와 산발랏은 느헤미야를 위협하려고
심지어 스마야 선지자도 뇌물을 줘서 그로 하여금 느헤미야에게 거짓된 예언을 하게 만들었습니다. 그들의 목적은 느헤미야로 하여금 범죄하게 하여 느헤미야의
이름을 더럽히고 그를 비방하기 위해서였습니다(느헤미야 6:10-13, 현대인의 성경). 저는
이 말씀을 묵상할 때 하나님의 종은 하나님의 말씀을 받아 하나님의 백성들에게 그대도 전해야 한다는 생각이 더 듭니다. 그러기 위해서 하나님의 종은 뇌물을 받아서는 안 됩니다. 그 이유는 뇌물은 사람의 마음을 부패하게 하고(전도서 7:7, 현대인의 성경) 또한 지혜로운 사람의
눈까지도 멀게 하여 의로운 사람의 말을 왜곡시켜(출애굽기 23:8, 새 번역; 신명기 16:19) 결국에는 그릇된 길로 가게
하기 때문입니다(욥기 36:18).
