God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 자진해서 섬기는 자들
이스라엘 백성들의 지도자들은 예루살렘에 머물고 백성 가운데 제비를
뽑아 10분의 1은 예루살렘에 와서 살게 하며 그 나머지 백성은 각자 자기 성에 머물러 있게 했습니다. 그런데 백성들 가운데 “자진해서” 예루살렘에 살겠다고 나서는 사람들이 있었습니다. 이스라엘 백성들은 그들을 칭찬했습니다(느헤미야 11:1-2, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 자진해서 교회 중심된 신앙생활을
하겠다고 나서는 그리스도인들은 칭찬을 받는다는 생각이 들었습니다. 교회 안에서 남이 시키는 것을 기다리지 아니하고 스스로 나서서
주님과 주님의 교회를 사랑하는 마음으로 겸손히 신실하게 섬기는 자들은 주님께서 칭찬하실 것입니다.
