A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. 그럴 수 없습니다. 이런 일이 결코 일어나서는 안 됩니다”하고 예수님을 말렸습니다. 그래서 예수님께서는 베드로를 보시고 이렇게 꾸짖으셨습니다:
“사탄아, 썩 물러가거라!
너는 나를 넘어지게 하는 자이다.
네가 하나님의 일을 생각지 않고 사람의 일을 생각하고 있다”(마태복음
16:21-23, 현대인의 성경). 사탄은 우리로 하여금 자꾸만 사람의 일을 생각하게 만들고 있습니다. 사탄은 우리로 하여금 우리가 사랑하는 식구나 사람이 예수님과 복음을 위하여 고난을 당하고 죽음의 위협까지 당하는 것을 원치 않게 만드므로 “이런 일이 결코 일어나서는 안 됩니다”하고 그 식구나 그 사람을 말리게 만들고 있습니다.
