The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. 과거 사랑, 미래 사랑, 현재 사랑
(1) 과거 사랑:
우리가 예수님을 믿음으로 구원을 받았을 때 (과거 구원) 하나님께서는 우리에게 성령님을 주셨을 뿐만 아니라 성령님으로 말미암아 우리 마음에 하나님의 사랑을 이미 부어주셨습니다(롬 5:5)
(2) 미래 사랑:
우리가 장차 예수님의 재림 때 구원을 받을 때 (미래 구원)
우리가 천국에 들어가면 성령님께서 천국의 법인 예수님의 이중계명을 온전히 순종케 하시사 우리로 하여금 완전한 사랑으로 하나님을 사랑하며 이웃을 사랑하게 만드실 것입니다.

현재 사랑:
성경은 "너희는 구원을 이루라"(현재 구원)고 말씀하고 있습니다(빌2:12). '너희는 영원한 생명을 이루라'는 말입니다. 즉, '너희는 영원한 생명이 있는 자 답게 살라', '너희는 천국 백성답게 살라'는 적용입니다.
종말론적인 성령님이 우리 안에 거하시사 지금 성령의 열매인 “사랑”을 맺고 계시고(갈5:22) 우리로 하여금 예수님의 이중 계명을 순종케 하시기에 우리는 성령님을 따라 사량해야 합니다(16절). 즉, 우리는 성령님의 인도하시는 바가 되야 하며(18절) 성령님으로 살고 성령님으로 행해야 합니다(25절). 그리할 때 우리 마음이 천국화되고, 우리 가정이 천국화 되며, 우리 교회가 천국화 되는 공동체가 될 것입니다.
