주님께서 교회를 번성케 하시므로 목사님 홀로 교인들의 괴로운 일과 힘겨운 일과 다투는 일을 담당할 수 없을 때 함께 짐을 담당할 수 있는 지혜롭고 지식이 있으며 인정 받는 자들이며 사람을 외모로 보지 않고 귀천을 차별 없이 들으며 사람의 낯을 두려워하지 않는 자들을 택하여 세워 교회 지도자들로 삼아야 합니다(신명기 1:9-18).
문제는 지금 미련하고 무식하며 인정도 못받고 사람을 외모로 보며 귀천을 차별하여 들으며 사람의 낯을 두려워하는 자들을 택하여 세워 교회 지도자들로 삼고 있다는 것입니다. 그러므로 지금 교회는 우리의 비성경적인 선택의 결과의 쓴 맛을 보고 있습니다.
