예수님께서는 3번이나 '내 뜻대로 마옵시고 아버지의 뜻대로 하십시오'라고 간구하신 반면에 "절대로" 예수님을 버리지 않고, "절대로" 예수님을 모른다고 부인하지 않겠다고 말한 베드로는 3번이나 예수님을 모른다고 부인했습니다. 예수님은 아버지 하나님의 뜻을 구한 반면에 베드로는 자신이 말한대로 행하지 않고 자신의 뜻대로 행했습니다(마태복음 26:34, 39, 42, 44, 70, 72, 74, 현대인의 성경).
