Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . 우리가 원하는 것은  고난의 잔을 우리게서 거두어 주시고  고난의 때가 우리에게서 지나가는 것이지만만일 주님이 원하시는 것은  고난의 때에 우리가 고난의 잔을 받는 것이라면 우리는 주님께 "나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서"라고 예수님처럼 기도해야 합니다(마가복음 14:36, 현대인의 성경).
