Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 하나님 보시기에 어느 것이 더 나을까요? 



높은 사람들에게 높임을 받고 특별한 대우를 받는 보다 낮은 사람들과 함께 낮아져서 겸손히 섬기는 것이 하나님 보시기에 훨씬 났습니다.   이유는 하니님께서 겸손한 자를 높이시고(에스더 6:1-11; 9:4; 10:3) 교만한 자를 낮추실 것이기 때문입니다(삼하22:28; 40:11-12; 18:27; 29:23).
