Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 우리는 곤경에 처해 있을 때 하나님의 모든 말씀을 우리 앞에 두고  말씀을 버리지 말고 오히려 지켜야 합니다.  그러므로 우리는 스스로 우리 자신을 지켜 악을 행하지 않고 죄악을 피하므로 하나님 앞에서 흠이 없고 깨끗해야 합니다(삼하 22:21-24).
