A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. 교회 안에 "에브라임 사람들"?
에브라임 사람들은 기드온에게 "네가 미디안과 싸우러 갈 때 (왜) 우리를 부르지 아니하였으니 우리를 이같이 대접함은 어찌 됨이냐"라고 말하면서 기드온과 "크게 다투"었는데(삿 8:1) 입다에게도 "네가 암몬 자손과 싸우러 건너갈 때에 어찌하여 우리를 불러 너와 함께 가게 하지 아니하였느냐 우리가 반드시 너와 네 집을 불사르리라"고 말했습니다(12:1).
에브라임 사람들은 기드온이나 입다에게 전쟁할 때 왜 자기들을 부르지 않았냐고 말했지만 실제로 입다의 말을 들으면 그게 사실이 아님을 알 수가 있습니다: "입다가 그들에게 이르되 나와 내 백성이 암몬 자손과 크게 싸울 때에 내가 너희를 부르되 너희가 나를 그들의 손에서 구원하지 아나한 고로 나는 너희가 도와 주지 아니하는 것을 보고 ..."(2-3절).
저는 이 사실을 묵상할 때 교회 안에도
"에브라임 사람들"과 같은 사람들이 있다고 생각합니다:
1. 말만하고 행동이 없습니다.
2. 그래서 교회 지도자가 도움을 청해도 그들은 도와주지 않습니다.
3. 그들은 공동체적인 책임을 감당하지 않습니다.
4. 그러면서도 그들은 교회 지도자에게 대접을 받고 싶어합니다.
5. 그러나 대접을 받지 못할 때 그들은 분노합니다.
6. 그리고 그들은 교회 지도자에게 시비를 걸어서 크게 다툼을 일으킵니다.
