The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 주님께서 저에게 주신 약속의 말씀 두 개가 있습니다: (1) 요한복음 6장 1-15절 말씀(저 개인에게)과 (2) 마태복음 16장 18절 말씀(승리장로교회).
(1) 첫 번째 약속의 말씀은, 물고기 2마리와 떡 5덩어리 밖에 안되는 제 자신을 주님께 받칠 때에 주님께서 도구로 사용하시사 남자만 5,000명을 먹이신다는 약속이고(무슨 뜻인지 몰라 20년 넘게 말씀과 씨름을 했음.
조금 깨닫게 된 것은 생명의 떡이 되시는 예수님의 말씀을 주야로 묵상하여 나눌 때에 주님께서 그 묵상 말씀을 주님의 도구로 사용하신다는 것 같음),
(2) 두 번째 약속의 말씀은, 제가 담임 목사로 섬기고 있는 승리장로교회는 (a) 주님의 교회요 (b) 주님께서 세우신다는 약속입니다.
주님께서는 이 약속의 말씀들을 저를 통해서 뿐만 아니라 어쩌면 제 자녀를 통해서도 이루시지 않을까 하는 생각이 열왕기상 8장 15절을 읽다가 들었습니다.
