The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. 저주를 돌이켜 축복하시는 하나님
하나님은 저주를 돌이켜 우리를 축복하시는 하나님이십니다.
모압 왕 발락은 발람으로 하여금 하나님의 백성인 이스라엘을 세 번이나 저주케하려고 했습니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 그 저주를 돌이켜 오히려 이스라엘을 세 번이나 축복케 하셨습니다. 그 이유는 하나님께 구원을 받은 이스라엘은 하나님 보시기에 참 행복자이기 때문이었습니다.
유대인 무리들은 예수를 저주의 나무인 십자가에 못 박으라고 크게 외쳤습니다. 그 이유는 그들은 예수가 신성 모독죄와 성전 모독 죄로 마땅히 하나님께 저주를 받아야 한다고 믿었기 때문입니다. 그런데 하나님께서 그 예수 십자가의 저주를 돌이켜 우리에게 구원의 축복을 베풀어 주신 것입니다.
