Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 아주 깊은 구덩이에 빠졌을 때 나의 부르짖음과 호소에 귀를 기울여 주시길 주님께 기도해야 합니다.  분명히 주님은 우리의 기도를 들으시고 우리에게 가까이 오시사 우리에게 "두려워하지 말라" 말씀해 주실 것입니다.  그리고 주님은 우리 마음의 원통함을 풀어주시고 우리의 생명을 구해 주실 것입니다(예레미야 애가 3:55-58, 현대인의 성경).
