For some of us, it’s been a while. In our hard-working, highly productive culture, we can sometimes feel like exhausted swimmers swept downstream in a fast-moving river, fighting to keep our heads above water, gasping for air. We get up early and stay up late. We never waste a minute. Our schedule is full, running here, running there, running late, running to catch up, running on empty, until we collapse in utter exhaustion. Underneath the satisfaction of being hard-working, hard-playing people is a weariness that’s desperate for the pace to relent so we can rest and recharge. 여호와를 자기 하나님으로 삼는 백성은 복이 있습니다.
"여호와를 자기 하나님으로 삼는 백성은 복이 있"습니다. 그 이유는 "여호와는 나의 사랑이시요 나의 요새이시요 나의 산성이시요 나를 건지시는 이시요 나의 방패이시"기 때문입니다. 그 하나님은 "나의 반석"이시요 "전쟁을 위해 나를 훈련시켜 전투에 대비하게 하"십니다. 하나님께서는 "진실을 말하지 않으며 맹세하고서도 거짓말 하는 자들"과의 싸움에서 우리에게 승리를 주십니다. 그러므로 "여호와를 자기 하나님으로 삼는 백성은 복이 있"습니다(시편 144:1-2, 8, 10-11, 15, 현대인의 성경).
