Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 다윗을 크게 사랑하였던 사울 왕은(삼상 16:21) 골리앗을 죽이고 돌아올 여인들이 "사울이 죽인 자는 천천이요 다윗은 만만이로다"라고 노래하니까 다윗을 질투하기 시작했습니다(18:6-9).  그런데 하나님께서 다윗과 함께하시므로 다윗이 모든 일을 지혜롭게 행하니까 사울 왕은 다윗을 두려워하여 평생에 다윗의 대적이 되었고 심지어 그를 죽이려고까지 했습니다(12-15, 25, 28).
