Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 우리가 당면한 위기의 역경 속에서 우리 자신의 무능력함과 무기력함을 뼈쩌리게 느끼는 가운데 오직 주님만 바라보면서  위기의 역경은 우리에게 속한 것이 아니라 주님에게 속한 것을 깨닫고 임마누엘 하나님을 전적으로 신뢰하며 의지할 때에 우리가 있는 것은 엎드려 하나님께 경배하며 하나님께 이렇게 찬송하게 됩니다"여호와께 감사하세 그의 인자하심이 영원하도다." (역대하 20:12-21)
