God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! 나귀(짐승)처럼 주님을 충성되이 섬기고 있나요?
"여호와의 사자가 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 길에 선 것을" 본 "나귀"를 발람은 "내 손에 칼이 있었더면 곧 너를 죽였으리라"고 말했습니다(민수기 22:23, 29). 나귀는 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 길에 서 있는 하나님의 사자를 보고 발람에게 채찍으로 세 번이나 맞으면서까지 자기 주인을 살리려고 했었지만(23-27절) 발람은 일생 동안 자기를 충성되이 섬기고 있었던(30절) 나귀를 "내 손에 칼이 있었더면 곧 너를 죽였으리라"고 말했습니다(29절). 발람은 자기 나귀(짐승)보다 못한 사람이었습니다.
예수님께서는 짐승보다 못한 우리를 위하여 십자가에 죽으시고자 나귀를 타시고 예루살렘에 입성하셨습니다(마21:7-10). 예수님께서 타신 나귀는 발람의 나귀처럼 예수님을 살리려고 하지 않았습니다. 오히려 그 나귀는 하나님 아버지께 순종하시고 계셨던 하나님의 아들 예수님, 마치 "도살장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양"과 같으신(이사야 53:7, 현대인의 성경) 유월절 어린양이신 예수님에게 순종했습니다.
과연 우리는 발람이 탄 나귀와 예수님이 타신 나귀처럼 주님을 충성되이 섬기고 있나요?
