우리 하나님은 우리의 슬픔을 돌이켜 즐겁게하시는 하나님이십니다. 자식을 낳지 못한다는 약점을 이용하여 몹시 괴롭힘과 업신여김을 당하고 비웃음과 조롱과 학대를 당하므로 울고 음식을 먹지 않을 때가 보통이었던 한나는 고통 속에서 마음이 너무 괴롭고 원통하고 분해서 하나님께 자신의 심정을 털어놓았었습니다 ( 사무엘상 1:6-7, 11, 15-16, 현대인의 성경 ). 그런데 하나님께서는 한나의 간구를 들으시사 그녀에게 아들 사무엘 (20 절 ) 을 주시므로 그녀의 마음을 기쁨으로 채우셨습니다 . 하나님께서는 한나를 축복하시고 높여주셨습니다 . 주님께서 그녀를 구해 주셨으므로 한나는 정말 기뻐했습니다 (2:1, 현대인의 성경 ). 이렇게 한나의 하나님이시요 우리 하나님은 우리의 슬픔을 돌이켜 즐겁게하시는 하나님이십니다 ( 예레미야 31:13, 개역한글 ; 참고 : 시편 30:11).
