하나님의 말씀을 듣고 싶어할 때 주님의 종은 그에게 또 다시 ‘회개하라’는 일관성 있는 메시지를 전해야 합니다. 회개하지 않고 있는 자신의 죄로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑의 징계로 고통을 당하고 있는 형제가 또 다시 주님의 종에게 와서 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 싶어할 때 주님의 종은 그에게 또 다시 ‘ 회개하라 ’ 는 일관성 있는 메시지를 전해야지 ‘ 하나님께서 당신을 그 고통에서 건져주실 것입니다 ’ 라는 식으로 말하면 안 됩니다 . 또한 주님의 종은 그 형제가 기도를 부탁할 때 그를 위해 기도하면서 하나님께서 그를 고통에서 건져주시길 기도하기 이전에 ‘ 우리의 죄를 사하여주옵소서 ’ 라고 기도하는 게 우선입니다 . 그 이유는 고통에서 건짐을 받기 위해선 회개하여 죄 사함을 받는 게 우선이기 때문입니다 ( 참고 : 예레미야 37:17, 현대인의 성경 ).
