Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 사랑해야 할 자와 사랑하는 것을 조심해야 할 자? 북쪽 이스라엘 아합 왕은  자기에 대하여 좋은 일로는 예언하지 않고  항상 나쁜 일로만 예언하는 참 선지자 미가야를 미워하였는데 ( 역대하 18:7),  남쪽 유다 왕 여호사밧은  " 여호와를 미워하는 자 " 인 아합 왕을 사랑하여 (19:2)  아합 왕 가문과 혼인함으로 인척 관계를 맺었습니다 (18:1).   우리는 우리를 사랑으로 책망하는 참 목자를 사랑해야 하며 ,  주님을 미워하는 자를 사랑하는 것을 조심해야 합니다 .
