God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 사람들 보기에 보잘 것 없는 "지팡이"와 같은 우리? 하나님은 모세에게 보잘 것 없는 "이 지팡이를 손에 잡아라. 이것으로 기적을 행할 수 있을 것이다"라고 말씀하셨습니다(출애굽기 4:17, 현대인의 성경). 실제로 하나님께서는 모세에게 "너는 네 지팡이를 들고 손을 바다 위로 내밀어 물이 갈라지게 하라. 그러면 이스라엘 백성이 마른 땅을 밟고 바다를 지나갈 것이다"라고 말씀하셨고, 모세가 바다 위에 손을 내밀자 여호와께서 밤새도록 강한 동풍을 불게 하셔서 바닷물을 물러가게 하셨으므로 바다가 갈라져 마른 땅이 되었고 이스라엘 백성이 좌우 물벽 사이로 마른 땅을 밟고 바다를 건너갔습니다(14:16, 21-22, 현대인의 성경). 하나님께서는 사람들 보기에 보잘 것 없는 "지팡이"와 같은 우리도 사용하셔서 기적을 행하고 계십니다.
