하나님의 자녀가 되었다는 것을 가볍게 생각하는 것은 불신앙입니다 . 사냥을 하고 돌아온 에서는 얼마나 배가 고파 죽을 지경이었으면 자기가 사냥해 온 고기를 음식으로 만들어서 ( 직접 못만들면 어머니 리브가에게 부탁해서라도 ) 먹지 않고 죽을 쑤고 있는 동생 야곱에게 " 배가 고파 죽겠으니 그 붉은 죽을 좀 다오 " 라고 말했을까요 ? 그 때 왜 야곱은 배가 고파 죽겠다는 형 에서에게 아무 조건없이 그가 원하는 죽을 좀 주지 않고 " 먼저 형의 장자권을 나에게 파시오 " 라고 말했을까요 ? 혹시 야곱은 형 에서의 장자권을 탐내고 있었던 것은 아닐까요 ? 그리고 혹시 야곱은 형 에서가 자신의 장자권을 가볍게 생각하고 있었던 것을 짐작하고 있었던 것은 아닐까요 ? 아니 어떻게 팥죽과 빵을 받고 자신의 장자권을 동생에게 팔을 수 있을까요 ? 아무리 배가 고파 죽게되었다고 " 이 장자권이 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐 ?" 하는 사람이 어디있습니까 ?( 창세기 25:29-34, 현대인의 성경 ) 에서는 팥죽 한 그릇 때문에 자신의 맏아들의 특권을 팔아 버렸습니다 . 성경은 에서를 가리켜 " 불신앙의 사람 " 이라고 말씀하고 있습니다 ( 히브리서 12:16, 현대인의 성경 ). 우리가 하나님의 은혜로 하나님의 아들이신 예수 그리스도를 믿어 구원을 받아 하나님의 자녀가 되었다는 것을 가볍게 생각하는 것은 불신앙입니다 .
