삶과 죽음을 통해 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 예수님을 따르는 제자들 갈릴리 바닷가를 거니시다가 바다에 그물을 던지고 있는 어부 베드로 ( 와 그의 형제 안드레 ) 를 보시고 " 나를 따라오너라 . 너희를 사람 낚는 어부가 되게 하겠다 " 고 말씀하신 예수님께서는 죽음에서 부활하신 후 디베랴 바닷가에서 다시 물고기 잡으로 간 베드로에게 어떤 죽음으로 하나님께 영광을 돌릴 것인가를 알리신 후 " 나를 따르라 " 하고 말씀하셨습니다 ( 마태복음 4:18-19; 요한복음 21:1, 3, 19, 현대인의 성경 ). 주님이 부르신 우리들은 주님을 따르는 제자들로서 우리의 삶을 통하여 예수님과 복음을 위하여 우리 생명을 버리는 사람들로서 ( 마가복음 8:35, 현대인의 성경 ) 우리의 죽음으로도 하나님께 영광을 돌려야 합니다 .
