A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. “ 쉬지 않고 여러분을 위해 기도하고 있습니다 ” (1) 성경은 “ 쉬지 말고 기도하라 ” 고 말씀하고 있습니다 ( 살전 5: 17). 끈기 있게 , 정기적으로 기도하라는 뜻입니다 ( 맥아더 ). 사무엘은 이스라엘 자손을 블레셋 사람들의 손에서 구원해 주시길 위하여 기도하기를 쉬는 죄를 하나님 앞에 결단코 범하지 않았습니다 ( 삼상 7:8, 12:23). 바울은 디모데 속에 거짓이 없는 믿음으로 인해 디모데를 위하여 쉬지 않고 생각하며 밤낮 간구할 때마다 하나님께 감사했습니다 ( 딤후 1:3). 바울은 사나운 이리떼 같은 거짓 선생들이 에베소 교회 가운데 들어와 양떼를 사정없이 해칠 것과 그 교회 안에서도 그와 같은 사람들이 일어나 그릇된 것을 가르쳐서 신자들을 꾀어내어 자기들을 따르게 할 것을 알고 그 교회 장로들에게 “ 여러분 일깨서 내가 삼 년이나 밤낮 쉬지 않고 눈물로 각 사람을 훈계하던 것을 기억하라 ” 고 말했습니다 ( 행 20:29-31). 바울은 로마 교회를 위해서도 쉬지 않고 하나님께 기도를 드렸는데 하나님께서도 잘 알고 계신다고 말했습니다 ( 롬 1:9). 바울은 데살로니가 교회를 기억하며 기도하였을 때 하나님께 쉬지 않고 감사했습니다 . 그 이유는 그 교회 성도들이 바울과 그의 동역자들을 통하여 들은 바 하나님의 말씀을 사람의 말로 받지 않고 하나님의 말씀 그대로 받았기 때문이요 또한 그 말씀이 믿는 그들 속에서 역사하고 있었기 때문입니다 ( 살전 2:13). 우리도 바울과 사무엘을 본받아 쉬지 않고 기도하십시다 .
